Product Design Engineer

  • Hybrid
    • Eindhoven, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands
  • Victron Energy

Take ownership of innovative power electronics at Victron Energy. Design high-voltage chargers and inverters, collaborate with expert engineers and help build reliable energy products used worldwide.

Job description

What will you do?

At Victron Energy in Eindhoven, you will work on powerful inverters and chargers for professional energy systems. You will develop electronics for products that are used worldwide. In this role, you will have significant responsibility for both hardware design and its further development.

Your work will include:

  • designing new hardware for high-voltage chargers and inverters;

  • creating and reviewing schematics and PCB layouts;

  • developing a new high-voltage solar charger;

  • improving existing products and solving technical issues;

  • supporting production teams with technical questions;

  • testing and improving designs before products go into production;

  • working closely with firmware developers, testers and production colleagues.

In the coming period, the team will focus on further developing a 15 kW product, supporting the introduction of a 30 kW version and creating new solutions for solar energy.

What makes this job unique?

In this role, you will have the freedom to make technical decisions and take ownership of your work. Instead of focusing on only one part of a design, you can contribute throughout the process: from the first idea and schematic to production, testing and continuous improvement.

You will join a small development team with two firmware developers and two hardware developers. This means communication is direct, responsibilities are clear and you can quickly see the results of your work.

You will collaborate directly with experienced engineers and work closely with the Product Director. The Eindhoven office offers extensive engineering facilities for developing and testing products.

Victron also regularly organises activities, including team weekends and social events.

Who are we?

Victron Energy develops energy products that are used worldwide in a wide range of demanding applications. These include solutions for energy storage, inverters, chargers and solar energy.

Our culture is practical, open and strongly focused on engineering. Engineers have the freedom to work independently, make decisions and take responsibility for their designs. Collaboration is important, while unnecessary management layers are kept to a minimum.

From the Eindhoven office, you will collaborate with colleagues across hardware, firmware, testing and production to develop reliable products used by customers worldwide.

Job requirements
