Job description

To ensure fleet performance optimization through development and optimizing the maintenance strategy for the vessels and follow-up on rules and regulations as issued by the relevant authorities to ensure the vessels remain compliant.

Accountability and responsibilities

  • Flag and register recurring issues/problems and maintenance related issues in the Vessel Maintenance system (VMS).

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain the maintenance strategy for the vessels in the VMS.

  • Provide support and knowledge to (technical) shore staff and crew with regard to maintenance of technical equipment and the content of the VMS.

  • Actively transfer knowledge on the VMS by onsite training of shore staff and vessel crew

  • Develop and implement training documentation for the VMS

  • Monitor, assess and advise Group Fleet management on information as issued by relevant authorities, such as, but not limited to class, IMO and flag states

  • Follow-up on developments on technical aspects, rules and regulations with regard to the vessels' maintenance schedules and certification.

  • Perform vessel inspections (VIC)

  • Support the Group Data Engineer in disclosing relevant data from the VMS in dashboards

  • Manage other systems for the Group Fleet department as applicable

  • Assist the department manager(s) with various projects to further develop the Group Fleet Department

Educational background             

  • Bachelor, HBO or Higher professional education or degree in a Technical or nautical related field

  • Marine seafaring education and experience on board of a vessel

Work experience                       

 

  • Relevant experience in the maritime/offshore industry

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience in the maritime sector

The successful candidate must be living in the Netherlands and being able to work in the Netherlands (being a local or in possession of a work permit). The language in our office is English.
